Jeni Mather |
Owner & President
Jeni Mather is the owner and president of J.M. Pet Resort, a state-of-the-art pet care facility located on Boston's South Shore. The highly successful resort is a dream come true for Jeni. She has turned her lifelong passion for animal welfare into a thriving pet-care business. Jeni now employs over 50 staff members to support a variety of essential pet-care services, including boarding and grooming for dogs and cats, doggie daycare, and obedience training, to area pet owners. The full-service resort also has a retail store with top-of-the-line natural, holistic and frozen pet foods, nutritional supplements, treats and pet care items. Jeni began her animal-care career in 1996 by working two jobs; she was a veterinary technician by day and a dog trainer by night. Jeni's intuitive dog training abilities quickly garnered her reputation as "the doglady". Her moonlighting success inspired Jeni to make dog training her full-time career. In 1999, she opened J.M. K-9 Training which offered doggie daycare - the first of its kind on the South Shore. Jeni's compassionate dedication to the care and well-being of animals inspired her to open the Brockton Blue Dog Shelter in 2000. Jeni recognized the need for a South Shore-based facility to support homeless dogs with health issues or obedience problems. Her unique rescue program has to date resulted in the successful rehabilitation and placement of over 1,300 dogs. The nonprofit shelter, along with the Easton and West Bridgewater Animal Control, is also housed at J.M. Pet Resort. Jeni resides in Easton with her loving husband George, her three beautiful children, and a few beloved pets, including Chase, a lively Golden Retriever, recently adopted from the Brockton Blue Dog Shelter. If you'd like to see Jeni at her finest, come and see her on Thursday nights as she teaches her Puppy Elementary classes. |
