J.M. Pet Resort is a Life-Long Dream Come True to MeHi, I'm Jeni Mather, owner and president of J.M. Pet Resort. I grew up locally in Brockton and Raynham and currently live in Easton with my three beautiful children, all under the age of 6, my wonderfully supportive husband George, and our menagerie of pets. I graduated in 1996 from Stonehill College with a bachelor's degree in biology. While attending college, I like many students, held down several part-time jobs. I worked as a waitress, an EMT, an assistant at a local veterinary hospital and trained dogs, which was one of my favorite hobbies. In early 1999, J.M. K-9 Training officially opened its doors. At this time I was working full-time days as a veterinary technician and teaching group obedience classes at night along with private obedience lessons. I eventually left my job as a vet tech and started offering more obedience classes. Word spread and J.M. K-9 Training became my full-time career. In late 1999, I took a gamble and opened the first doggie daycare on the South Shore. It took a little patience but my business finally took off. Shortly after J.M. K-9 began flourishing, I saw a growing need in the community for a dog shelter that would train and rehabilitate homeless animals that were hard to place because they had either behavioral and/or health problems. I used my skills as a dog trainer and vet tech to help these animals become adoptable and find forever homes. Several months later and with the help of some very dedicated volunteers, the Brockton Blue Dog Shelter opened in December of 2000. After several years it was clear, we were finally outgrowing our facility. In 2009 J.M. K-9 Training, now J.M. Pet Resort, moved just down the street to a brand new, state-of the art pet facility that not only houses the Blue Dog Shelter but also houses animals from West Bridgewater Animal Control and Easton Animal Control. I feel that I am giving back to the community that has helped support the amazing growth of our business. We are a unique facility and extremely proud of it. Many of our staff members, clients and volunteers have been with J.M. Pet Resort and the Blue Dog Shelter since our humble beginnings. I will be indebted to them. I am grateful to have such a great management team, top-notch, customer-oriented staff, caring, hard-working volunteers and most of all a loyal clientele. J.M. Pet Resort is dedicated to providing the community with a complete pet care center that truly cares about our clients and our community. We offer on the best services, pet foods and products. I am also proud to say that all of the staff are Certified Pet Care Technicians by the Pet Care Services Association and we continually train our staff in pet safety, health issues and proper nutrition. We are always here to help. When you entrust your pet to us we realize it can sometimes feel like you're leaving them with complete strangers. I personally want to assure you that we do everything possible to make your pet safe, comfortable and happy. Our new play areas, both indoor and outdoor are enormous. We have a "born free" outdoor natural play area that allows your dogs to socialize, run, play, dig and just be dogs! I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every client that comes through our doors and entrusts their pets to us. I also want to thank you for your continued patronage and referrals. Without a talented management team, a dedicated staff and loyal clients, J.M. Pet Resort would not be what it is today.
